Like every town and village, Ainsdale is more than just the built environment, but
because of where we are located the natural wonders on our doorstep are of national
importance and considerable interest, not just to the naturalist and scientist, but
to residents and visitors alike.
In the sands near Ainsdale are two major nature reserves. The Ainsdale Sand Dunes
National Nature Reserve, managed by Natural England, and the Ainsdale & Birkdale
Sandhills Local Nature Reserve managed by Sefton MBC, our local authority.
