Welcome to www.ainsdale.info
website of Ainsdale Civic Society
Ainsdale Civic Society was formed in 2000 by a group of people who care about the
past, present and future of Ainsdale. Our Society motto is ‘Caring for Ainsdale’
and this is exactly what we do. From time to time we hold fundraising events, and
every penny raised is used solely for the benefit of Ainsdale and its residents.
But we do much more than raise funds...
Our website, ainsdale.info, aims to tell you what we have done, show you what we
do, and encourage you to help in what we are going to do! The NavBar at the top left
will show you the main pages, or if you would like to see all the pages, set out
in a convenient list, just click on Site Map, below.
So, read on, enjoy, and if you have any comments or suggestions, or you would like
to volunteer, please send us a message. Our feedback form will arrive automatically
if you click the scroll on the left!
Our Site Map shows how all the pages of our website are connected. Every page name

Can You Help? Yes, You Can!
There are thousands of people in our local area, and almost as many ways in which
any or all of you can do your bit to help improve life for some or all of those thousands.
On our ‘Can You Help’ page we will list some of those opportunities as they are notified
to us. If you can help, at all, please do - apart from the good it does, there is
a great deal of personal satisfaction to be gained!

on the Memorial, those who have helped with the refurbishment, and local organisations
and residents will come together to celebrate the completion of the work. Everyone
is welcome to attend.
The Annual Service of Remembrance will take place as usual on the Village Green on
Sunday 9th November, culminating in the two minutes silence at 11am to mark the Armistice

WOODVALE RALLY - 21st & 22nd JUNE 2014
Once again we attended the Woodvale Rally and what a difference from last year’s
washout! The weather was excellent and lots of vehicles turned up. There were about
2500 visitors on Saturday and about 4000 on Sunday. Our stall did extremely well
and we thank those who turned up to help: David, Barbara, Francine, Ray and Francis.
We raised £250 from our stall.

This year we had our usual stall at the Ainsdale Show on the 5th July. What a brilliant
We had a lovely stall, we had a lot of fun and we had a lot of helpers. Margaret
Woolley was brilliant at the Tin Can Alley. We sold lots of Open Garden tickets and
books and made money on Tin Can Alley. The Teddy Raffle organised by Sue Howard raised
£72 and we received lots of enquiries about our Society. The show itself was very
We want to say a big Thank You to Edwin from Ainsdale Fruit & Veg who donated all
the coconuts for our stalls this year.
