Next Meeting Status
There has been much speculation recently about plans to use Greenbelt areas for additional
housing developments. Residents in Ainsdale have to opportunity to participate in
the consultation process organised by Sefton MBC.
A meeting, to explain the proposed plans, was held at Ainsdale Village Church Hall
on Wednesday 3rd August 2011.

The first of these is a briefing document by Natural England, and the Campaign to
Protect Rural England (CPRE) which explains the purposes and policies behind the
establishment of Green Belt areas, and what these mean for society at large. The
document is 20 pages in length, and is available in pdf format by clicking HERE.
The second sets out the reasoned response by the Sefton Group of the CPRE to Sefton
MBC’s ‘preferred option’ for Green Belt Core Strategy. This is two pages, in pdf

The consultation period during which points of view could be set out for Sefton MBC
to consider produced more than two thousand responses! Sefton’s Local Planning Team
have emailed the Campaign to Protect Rural England with a brief outline of ‘what
