7th Annual Ainsdale Open Gardens Weekend

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th July 2011

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WEEK-END

This year’s Annual Open Gardens Week-End was the best one ever!

Blessed with good weather the event was the most successful yet with almost 350 visitors coming to the 12 gardens opened to the public.

As a result more than £2750 was raised on behalf of the Society and will benefit charities which include the Neuropath Trust, Help for Heroes, Queenscourt Hospice, African Famine, and the Lions Club charity shop.

We especially thank those wonderful residents who opened their gardens to the visitors.

Those who opened their gardens for the first time and were, perhaps, a little apprehensive, have told us that it was beyond their expectations and they have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In fact some of their neighbours have already asked if they can be included next year!

Thank you also to the Chocolate Box, Brough’s Butchers, Grayson’s Bakery, and Cookson’s Garden Shop, who sold the tickets on our behalf.

It is only through events such as this and the co-operation of people like these that we are able to continue our work to care for and improve Ainsdale village so, once again, thank you so much and we thank every single one of you who came to visit.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year – if you would like us to include your garden – get in touch! Just click on the scroll to the left, and our feedback page will open.
